Leiny Ruiz
Leiny Ruiz was born in Havana, Cuba, and immigrated to the United States with her family in 2000. She was raised in Hialeah, Florida, where she attended Miami Dade College before relocating to Southwest Florida to complete her Bachelor of Arts in Political Science at Florida Gulf Coast University.
Leiny went on to earn her Juris Doctor from Ave Maria School of Law in Naples, Florida, graduating in December 2021. She was admitted to the Florida Bar in April 2022. After practicing law for several years in West Palm Beach, she relocated to New York City, where she currently resides.
From the outset of her legal career, Leiny has been a dedicated advocate for the immigrant community. She has extensive experience in consular processing, family-based immigration, removal defense, and investment visas. She has represented clients in hundreds of interviews before U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) and has appeared regularly in immigration court. Leiny is committed to achieving the best possible outcomes for her clients in an ever-evolving immigration landscape.
Outside of her legal practice, Leiny is an active member of Habitat for Humanity, participating in local builds, Women’s Builds, and Global Village trips. In her free time, she enjoys reading The New Yorker, traveling to unfamiliar destinations, wine tasting, and learning to play the piano.
